AIVP – The Worldwide Network of Port Cities: Port cities’ agenda for 2030 to be brought to the UN

The 16th World Conference Cities and Ports took place in Quebec City from June 11 to June 14, 2018. It brought together 345 participants from 45 different countries over 4 intense days. Mayors, ports directors, architects, companies that are related to port cities thought together on how to build tomorrow’s port city.

The Next Generation was also enhanced with a special focus on delegates in their thirties. The conference was followed by 12 rapporteurs on 6 topics, and concluded on an agenda for 2030 that delegates representing all stakeholders of port cities around the world have agreed to stick to.

This agenda will be, within few weeks, firstly modified by the rapporteurs according to the debates and then, ratified by AIVP members and organizations that participated in the Conference. AIVP agenda for 2030 will be brought to the UN as a contribution to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by Gaetan SIEW, special-envoy for UN-Habitat who attended and concluded the Conference.
