INUC’s Second Urban Dialogue on “Spatial Development” Held in Tehran.

23 June 2016- Iran’s National Urban Campaign second Urban Dialogue on “Spatial Development” held in UN Common Premises in Tehran, Giving a description of The City Iranians Need(TCIN) based on people’s ideas in terms of “Spatial Development” concepts, discussing the obstacles towards TCIN, and deriving the solutions, the Spatial Development working group led the session.

  • The city Iranians Need gives people the sense of ownership
  • The city Iranians Need is a colorful city with musical tones
  • In the city Iranians Need urban and rural areas are organically connected

These are the headlines of what Iranians want from their cities presented in this session. The relevant working group categorized people’s ideas in 4 main themes. Cultural Heritage, Public Space & Connectivity, Urban Land/Landuse, and Rural-Urban Linkages. All of these themes were discussed in this session in terms of challenges and solutions towards the city Iranians need.
