COVID-19 Urban Thinkers Campus Series

COVID-19 Urban Thinkers Campus Series

As the COVID-19 pandemic is triggering a diversity of responses, the World Urban Campaign has called upon partners to reflect on key issues in order to start learning from the actions of city and community leaders, social workers and related actors on the ground. This learning process will take the form of a conversation in a series of e-sessions and e-roundtables using the Urban Thinkers Campus, a participatory platform that has successfully organized more than 150 campuses since 2015.

The COVID-19 Urban Thinkers Campus Series will start on 4 May 2020 with a session entitled ‘Facing Urban Vulnerabilities’ with prominent speakers from Slum Dwellers International, the Municipality of Freetown, REALL, Cities Alliance, Wits University and UN-Habitat. It will highlight the interventions by key stakeholders in cities and communities responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in different contexts and will highlight key lessons learned. The roundtable discussion will also help articulate key recommendations addressed to the various constituencies.
