25th session of UN-Habitat Governing Council confirms the World Urban Campaign as a key platform for engagement

After day of complex negotiations, the 25th session of the Governing Council of UN-Habitat ended on a positive note confirming expectations of WUC Partners with clear indications that the campaign has a key role to play on the road towards Habitat III and beyond, in UN-Habitat's strategic plan. Two resolutions explicitly mention the World Urban Campaign and its role.

General Assembly of Partners launched at Prepcom2

At the eve of the second Preparatory Committee meeting for the Habitat III Conference, partners gathered to launch the General Assembly of Partners (GAP), a new deliberative devise for the Conference. This innovative assembly is a special initiative of the World Urban Campaign, proposed a month after the first Prepcom, in order to provide an open platform for all non-governmental partners to build a consensus prior to the Habitat III Conference.
