The World Urban Pavilion in Regent Park – Powered by Daniels (Pavilion) will be celebrating its 1st year anniversary on April 24th from 9:00AM – 12:00PM (Toronto Time). We invite you to join us on this occasion!
This celebration will take place both in-person at 660 Dundas St. East, 3rd Floor, Unit 5 & 6, Toronto, Ontario, Canada and virtually.
What
This has been a year of realizations. The Pavilion, situated in the Regent Park community in downtown Toronto, first opened its doors to a global audience in April 2022. In support of the Pavilion’s mandate as a global platform to inspire action and advocate for urban SDGs with urban stakeholders, the theme for the first anniversary meeting will be on the Journey Toward Urban Transformations. The event will bring together urban organisations from across the globe to celebrate the last year of the Pavilion’s achievements and share their inspiring practices on urban development and what makes up the ingredients of success for urban transformations.
At 10:30am, the World Urban Pavilion will host a session lead by Buro Happold, Barnet Council, University of Manchester, and Related Argent to discuss the Brent Cross Town. This session will explore the opportunities to reimagine this creative, transit-oriented, park town in North London, UK. The session will discuss the Flourishing Index and how urban data is being leveraged to support the strategic planning, learning, and success of the community.
This will be followed by presentations on some of Canada’s most innovative and transformative sustainable urban initiatives.
