SAVE THE DATE: UTC - MUMBAI 2022 - feminist cities for a sustainable future



Red Dot Foundation would like to invite you to join the Urban Thinkers Campus and jointly develop recommendations for a Feminist City with a Sustainable Future.

The Urban Thinkers Campus (UTC) is a format by the UN-Habitat under the World Urban Campaign. It is meant to be a place to share, learn and define the way forward through individual and joined commitments to implement the New Urban Agenda (NUA). The format of the Campus is flexible, based on open facilitated sessions, allowing a high level of interaction. All participants have equal opportunities to voice their views, ideas, and commitment to supporting their vision toward action. This UTC is in collaboration with UN-Habitat, UNICEF Maharashtra, Rotary Club of Bombay West, GIZ, The Urban Vision, Developmatrix, NIUA, Kubernein Initiative, and Aga Khan Agency for Habitat. Over the course of two days - 28 and 29 Sep, we will deep dive into various topics on creating a feminist (equal and inclusive) city. We will have the following working sessions Learning Lab - City Work Tools to localize SDGs by GIZ Learning Lab - Creating a Feminist Policy by Kubernein Initiative Roundtables on

  • Youth-friendly city led by UNICEF Maharashtra

  • Building Community Resilience for Climate Action by Aga Khan Agency for Habitat India

  • Designing Urban Infrastructure for safer cities by Red Dot Foundation & The Urban Vision

  • Engendering Waste Management by Developmatrix

Together we will deep dive into the issues, and challenges and develop practical recommendations for implementing bodies and make commitments at the individual level for the achievement of SDGs. All recommendations and commitments will be documented on the World Urban Campaign website.
