Registration for the twelfth session of the World Urban Forum – the world’s premier conference on sustainable urbanization – is now open.
Registration will close on 30 October 2024. Application for partner-led events opened on 21 February and will close on 8 April 2024.
Established by the United Nations in 2001 to examine rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies and climate change, the World Urban Forum (WUF) is a dynamic and participatory platform that encourages discussions and critical discourse on urban development.
WUF12 will take place from 4 to 8 November 2024 in Cairo, Egypt, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center.
Registration process
Registration is open until 30 October 2024 at 6 p.m. (UTC+02:00) and application for partner-led events is open until 8 April 2024. Registration and participation in WUF12 is free of charge. To register and apply, visit https://events.unhabitat.org/.
Theme
Under the theme "It All Starts at Home: Local Actions for Sustainable Cities and Communities," WUF12 will explore the transformative power of localized actions.
Partner-led events
Participants and guests representing national, regional, and local governments, academics, business leaders, community leaders and urban planners are expected to attend WUF12.
Stakeholders are welcome to apply to the following six partner-led event categories: Networking events; Voices from Cities; SDGs in Action; Urban Library; ONE UN; Training events.

About WUF12
WUF12 is convened by UN-Habitat and co-organized with the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt. WUF comes back to the African continent for the first time after its inaugural session in Nairobi in 2002. This will be the first time that the event is held in a megacity.
